What is “By the People Lobby Day”?

The American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia (ACLU of Georgia), for the seventh year, is offering lobby training to individuals and other progressive groups each Tuesday during the legislative session.  This coming Tuesday, special focus will be on legislation that will impact immigrant and refugee communities in our state.  Training includes:

  • How to talk to legislators
  • What are  the “hot” issues and why you should care
  • How best to help push or stop legislation
  • Legislative updates given by progressive organizations such as Georgia Rural Urban Summit (GRUS)
  • A walking tour of the Capitol’s lobbying area and introduction to the legislative process
  • Assistance in meeting your senator and representative
